Attempt ALL questions.

1. a. Write the operating principle of moving iron instrument. Also, write the advantage and disadvantage of PMMC. (4+4)

b. A moving coil voltmeter has resistance = 10 KQ, dimension of coil 30 mm x 30 mm, number of turns on ceil 100, flux density in the air gap (B) =0.08 wb/m², spring constant (K) 3x10 Nm/degree. Find the deflection produced by a voltmeter of 300 V. (8)

2. Write types of resistance. Explain measurement of medium resistance using Wheatstone bridge method. (2+6)

b. What is shunt and multipliers? List out the characteristics of shunts used for extension of range of ammeters. (4+4)

3. a. Explain about the construction and operation of VAR meter.

b. In two wattmeter method of 36 power measurement the wattmeter 'A' reads 500 watt and wattmeter 'B' reads 1000 watt. Calculate the power and power factor of circuits. (8)

4. a. Explain about the construction, operation and application of lux meter. [4+4]

b. What is thermocouple. Explain its operations in brief. Mention the applications of thermocouple. . [1+4+3]

5. Write short notes on: (any FOUR) {4×4}

b. Maxwell's Bridge

c. Megger

d. Digital Measurement Instrument
